A 64-year-old father of 88 children has made international headlines after he announced that he is marrying an 18-year-old woman to help him achieve his goal of having 100 children!
United Arab Emirates retiree Daad Murad Abdul Rahman already has three wives, but says he needs to take another bride to reach his ideal family size by the year 2015.
“I will stop marrying when I have 100 children,” Rahman told Emirates 24/7. “I hope to achieve that with this marriage.”
Rahman’s bride-to-be presently lives in India, but will marry hm after the Eid holiday. He says his doctor arranged the marriage and the dowry cost him $5,500 US (20,000Dh).
“I’m thrilled about my wedding,” Rahman said. “She is a pretty girl. I have seen her photograph. I speak to her over the phone.”
He added: “We will have to cut at least four sheep for the festivities.”
Indeed, it certainly will be an enormous gathering.
Rahman’s nuclear family group comprises of a whopping 127 members who live in seven homes. He’s been married 15 times and all but his three current wives have ended in divorce, according to the report.
And some of his ex-wives still live with him, including many of his 50 boys and 38 girls that range from 39 years old to an infant.
He says he’s able to support his family through a pension from the UAE Armed Forces and government benefits like free homes.
